The metallographic microscope should be kept by a special person. The storage room should choose a separate room that is relatively clean, well lit and dry.

Metallographic microscopes are placed in the instrument cabinet and divided into several compartments according to their varieties. The next layer of desiccant (such as silica gel, calcium chloride, charcoal, etc.), there should be ventilation holes between the layers, the cabinet is more than 0.5 meters from the wall, more than 0.2 meters from the ground. The registration form for keeping the instrument should be hung on the cabinet. Large and medium-sized metallographic microscopes should be placed on the table, covered with a glass cover, with moisture absorbent inside.

Before storage should wipe, paint off or oxidation parts, should be coated with a small amount of antirust oil.

The instrument should not be kept in the packing box (transport box) for a long time (more than one month).

According to the climate change, it is necessary to check, wipe and ventilate regularly, and timely measures should be taken if any problems are found.
